Celebrities might not be the best people to consult for advice on healthy foods. And even the best-informed starlet probably knows less about a healthy diet than the licensed nutritionist on her payroll (or, let’s be real, her speed dial). But we just can’t stop ourselves from listening when stars with impressive muscle tone and Herculean willpower dish out nutrition advice.
Take Gwyneth Paltrow — who has earned the dubious honor of ranking among the most hated people in Hollywood — as an easy example. It’s unnervingly easy to be riveted by what Paltrow says about diet — even if you don’t buy into her philosophy on why your diet needs to be low-carb and gluten-free. Maybe you don’t really think your jade eggs need to be cage free. (On second thought, maybe the “cage-free” restriction applies only to chicken eggs.) Yet we all listen to what Paltrow says, even if we don’t intend to follow her advice.
Curious which healthy foods Paltrow and other celebrities recommend? Read on to check them out. Just take their advice with a big grain of salt — so long as it’s expensive Himalayan sea salt.
1. Almond milk
Almond milk is a staple for anyone on a vegan diet (which, as you can imagine, includes a lot of celebrities). But you don’t have to run to the grocery store each time you need this dairy alternative. Actress Zazie Beetz tells Bon Appétit she likes to make her own almond milk. “I was looking into vegan food, and making your own milks was one of the challenges,” she says. “I decided to try making it, and it’s pretty easy to do. I love my blender.”
