England and Croatia face each-other in a huge World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, but it isn’t the first time the two nations have face one another.
Both sides have squared off a number of times in the past few years – the most recent of which being two 2010 World Cup qualifiers where the Three Lions won 1-4 and 5-1 respectively.
Before that, however, was the infamous ‘Wally with a Brolly’ game in 2007 when Steve McClaren’s side were beaten 3-2 by Croatia at Wembley in a Euro 2008 qualifier – costing England a place at the tournament.
Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Scott Carson, Peter Crouch, Wayne Bridge and Sol Campbell all lined up for England that day, in what was a forgettable moment in England football history.
