Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Khloe touched down in Armenia on Wednesday with a huge cheering crowd awaiting their arrival.
As the reality star and her rapper husband made their way through the arrival gate at Zvartnots International Airport they were greeted by a mass of people in scenes that soon turned chaotic.
Part of the impressive royal welcome included women in traditional Armenian dress offering bread and salt – a tradition for greeting dignitaries.
Khloe, 30, who is now nearly as blonde as her older sister was last month, was also spotted entering the arrivals area walking closely behind Kim.
Once outside the terminal the reality stars left in a minivan together and were protected by police officers who helped control fans who had rushed to catch a glimpse of the stars.
Though the Kardashian clan were said to be visiting the country to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the reality star’s rep has since denied any connection.
Kim has said she simply wanted to get in touch with her Armenian roots.
Her late father Robert Kardashian was of Armenian-American descent, so the trip to Yerevan will mark an important pilgrimage for the famous family.
A source told Us weekly that the entire clan apart from Kendall Jenner will be flying out there this week.
On Tuesday Kim, Kanye and their daughter were seen making their way through LAX ahead of the long journey.
Kim displayed long dark locks having transformed her look once again, back to a more natural style after her brief stint with platinum blonde locks.
On the eight day trip the family plans to visit the genocide monument, museums, meet with politicians and reportedly travel to the town of Gyumri… where relatives of Kim’s dad may live.
E! cameras are said to be capturing all the activities for their TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
