Leonardo DiCaprio is laying the foundation for his own private island resort off the coast of Belize. The island which is named Blackadore Caye was bought by Leo and his real estate developing partner, Paul Scialla for $1.75 million. And believe it or not, he wants to begin converting the 104 acres of raw uninhabited land into an upscale, environmentally friendly hotel resort. According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter, Mr. DiCaprio says, “The main focus is to do something that will change the world.” Over the years, Leo has been involved with several eco-conscious causes, so this venture won’t exactly be uncharted territory for him, although delving into real estate development definitely is. From a report in The Times, it is said that, “The upcoming venture will be named Blackadore Caye, a Restorative Island.” Set to open in 2018, the exclusive resort will boast 68 guest villas, 48 vacation homes, breathtaking views of the beach landscape, infinity pools and will carry a price tag of between $5 million and $15 million for its clients.
