Philadelphia’s Mayor Performs ‘Rapper’s Delight’

The Roots played a main residence show in Philadelphia, and an exceptionally uncommon visitor went along with them in front of an audience to actually drop the mic.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter joined the band at July Jam, Mayor Nutter continued to set out a vigorous variant of the Sugarhill Gang’s fantastic “Rapper’s Delight, complete with mic drop.

Also, you can really call it a rebound: Mayor Nutter sang with the Roots in 2012, also performed with DJ Jazzy Jeff in 2010, and at his installation as mayor in 2008.
