1. It”s officially green-lit
Per insider sources cited by Variety, Netflix has officially renewed ‘Stranger Things’ for a second season. Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings had previously told The Guardian that “we would be dumb not to [renew],” you can pretty much put it in the books. And given the impressive numbers Stranger Things has procured, you can understand why.
According to media data collection startup Symphony Advanced Media — a company that has accurately tracked Netflix ratings — Stranger Things appears to be more popular than Daredevil, House of Cards, Jessica Jones, and Narcos when it comes to the period soon after debut. And when it comes total audience demand across all platforms, Stranger Things is only 4.5 million behind Game of Thrones.
