Controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested in the Big Apple on Wednesday for an outstanding warrant related to a mall attack on a 16-year-old, cops said.
Tekashi was taken into custody at JFK Airport just moments after returning home from his European tour, according to police.
He is accused of choking a teen at The Galleria mall in Houston, after the boy began recording him with his cell phone. Footage of the incident later surfaced on social media.
“Delete the video,” Tekashi can be heard telling the teen in Spanish.
The 22-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was charged with misdemeanor assault for the incident, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Prosecutors claimed in court documents that he grabbed the teen “by the neck, causing small scratch marks and pain” — while his “bodyguards began to surround him in an intimidating way, also yelling at him.”
Hernandez is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday afternoon. Sources said he should be extradited back to Texas.
