Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy were seen sitting down during the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday and conservatives are not happy about it.
Shortly after the famous duo and their daughter were shown not standing for Demi Lovato’s national anthem performance, big-name conservative personalities like Tomi Lahren, Nick Adams, Brigitte Gabriel, and Carmine Sabia criticized their decision on Twitter.
“What a disgusting act of shame. Beyoncé and Jay-Z remained seated during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl,” Adams tweeted. “This country has given them the opportunity to be everything they are, and they reward it by disgracing the Flag and the Anthem! Our service heroes deserve more respect!”

Listen Up Beyonce and Jay-Z!!
You don’t think it’s necessary to stand for our Anthem and our Flag!?
Countless lives have been lost defending that Flag so people like YOU can attend events like the Super Bowl in peace.
You should be EMBARRASSED for yourselves. What a disgrace.

Many of the conservative talking heads also took the opportunity to make a jab about Jay-Z’s past experience as a drug dealer.
“Beyoncé & Jay-Z (former crack dealer) sit for the national anthem because apparently the United States of America has oppressed them with millions upon millions of dollars & fans,” Lahren tweeted. “Sounds rough. Maybe they should try another country that allows them a little more freedom & success?”

I get why Beyoncé and Jay-Z did not stand for the National Anthem. When a drug dealer from the ghetto becomes a billionaire businessman he should be furious at the nation that allowed that to happen.

While conservatives fumed, others called them out for being too sensitive—AKA “snowflakes.”
“Since some people are throwing a hissy fit that Beyoncé and Jay-Z sat down during the National Anthem, let’s rub this iconic performance in their face as well,” Twitter user @thejitterbug759 wrote.

You shouldn’t care about Beyonce and Jay-Z not standing for the anthem because;
1. People were seated while watching at home
2. People were seated at the stadium
3. It’s a football game, not a military funeral
4. Who gives a fuck?

More than anything, people were pissed that the conservative personalities were mad about the family sitting, but as always, not the actual injustice these protests have tried to highlight over the years.
“LOL at conservatives losing their shit over Beyonce and Jay-Z not standing for the anthem. Maybe if you guys would also take several seats and pay attention to actual injustice America would be better,” law professor Goldburn P. Maynard Jr. tweeted.

People are more upset at Beyoncé and Jay-Z sitting during the national anthem than at Trump bribing another country to win another election. pic.twitter.com/X5DIJqqQ1t

Jay-Z has a partnership with the NFL to fund nonprofits and social justice programs. At times, his partnership has caused controversy, especially because it came in the wake of the NFL’s relationship with Colin Kaepernick’s protests during the national anthem. Some saw Jay-Z’s decision to work with the NFL a betrayal, accusations Jay-Z has denied.
