The hairdryers have more germs than a public restroom
According to an investigation by ABC, one of the filthiest places in your hotel room bathroom is the complimentary hair dryer. While state codes mandate obvious items, such as drinking glasses and toilets, to be sanitized, there are few regulations that explain how and when it’s time to disinfect the hair dryers (among other items).
If you must use a hotel hair dryer, we suggest carrying a small pack of disinfecting wipes in your toiletry bag. That way you can wipe it down before using.
